Punchestown racecourse is almost three miles from Naas on the Naas-Ballymore Eustace Road. Punchestown is a right handed oval of 2 miles with a run in of 3 1/2 furlongs. The racecourse went through a huge re-development, which has seen it transformed into a state of the art racetrack, which now caters for the really big crowds.
Punchestown holds in the region of 16 individual race meetings each season, with plenty of superb race days with over 20 Graded races taking place at Punchestown throughout the season with the majority of these grade races staged at the Irish National Hunt Festival. The festival is staged a couple of weeks after the Aintree Grand National meeting and usually attracts those horses that have run at Cheltenham Festival and Aintree in an effort to bid for further success at Ireland's flagship jumping event.
